Original Title: SD card reader problem on windows 10Dear Microsoft,Eventhough I am pleased with Windows 10 as an operating system I have an issue with your card reader recognition of cards (SD card)I upgraded to Windows 10 last summer. After a while I noticed that my internal card reader did not recognize the card all the time. Usually when it did not, a simple reboot of the computer was required to make it work again.I blamed the hardware (it was an old one) and bought a new one (brand Akasa, but don't ask me the model number)I installed it and the first impression was that it worked well. But I think it already started to behave the same after the second usage a few days later. Again a simple reboot was enough most of the time, sometimes a second reboot did the trick. OfcourseI have tried to get rid of the problem entirely by reinstalling the device completely (removed the device from the hardware listI have never used the manufacturers drivers.

We will be happy to help.Thank you. It will be the actual card reader driver.go to hardware and sound / device manager /universal Serial Bus Controllers / at the bottom.card reader/right click/uninstall/check box.delete driver package too.As an insider pre win 10 release i had theexact same issue. I am sorry for not responding for a long time.
I have been a very busy person and needed to have my attention on a lot of other stuff, but that is all personal.I have tried all the above solution and with no result. I have now bought a USB3.0 stick with micro and normal SDcard reader built in and this seems to work perfectly fine. But my 'built in' still does not.
I even tried one belonging to a friend of minethat fits in the same 3-something inch slot as mine, but again to no luck. Same issue persists, only works after a reboot, where as the usb version works as intended.I am completely out of ideas and puzzled by it. But By now I will wave the white flag. I have a working method now and not gonna put more energy in it, mostly because of the lack of time I will have from now on due to work and other personalstuff.I would really like to thank everyone for the time and patience they have been putting in this thread to help me try to resolve it, but unfortunately it is just not meant to be I guess.
