Selenium does not have the capability to automate the desktop applications. It cannot recognize the objects in a desktop application. Selenium drives the testing using the driver object that identifies the elements on screen using id, cssselector, xpath etc. Which are not present in a desktop app.

Though there is ID behind the elements in a desktop app but as we all know that IDs are dynamic and cannot be relied on.Testers use autoIT,sikuli along with selenium to interact with windows UI if required by a website i.e. For the features like upload a file etc.

Hello JohnI tried your solution but I only got as far as #3 and did select the 'small icons' on the upper right portion.#4 said Click on Display.I cannot find Display anywhere on my page. What am I doing wrong?I'm using Windows 10 Home, 64 bit and I want my main system font to beArial Rounded MT Bold for the desktop icon titles, menus, internet favourite's list, etc.I'm using Internet Explorer 11I also have Mozilla Firefox on my computerSometimes one works better than the other (we do a lot of Pogo gaming!)Thanks for your help. Hello Darian,Well, I've been told right from Windows 10 Home that, at present, there is no way we can change the fonts on the desktop or in the menus like we could do before.

Also, this new windows 10 that was upgraded to everyone using this Windows apparently cannotbe controlled or stopped. Windows just goes ahead and updates automatically whether you want it or not and there's no way you can block it that isn't a 'pain in the butt' for users that are not that great with this 'stuff' like me!! It's also time consumingand I'm sure Windows can get past it and update anyway.I guess my next step will be to try and get another version of windows - I did like Vista - never any trouble with it - the only problem there will be that I'll have to reinstall all my software. There is no point in going back to Windows 10 Home that I had before because the updates will just reinstall again automatically. Thanks for your help,Fran.
